UPGRATION of SCADA System for Hamriyah RO Plant

Sharjah, UAE

General Information

Client: Sharjah Electricity and Water and Gas Authority (SEWA)

SEWA is dedicated to delivering essential services that empower the growth and prosperity of Sharjah and its residents.

It is the primary provider of electricity, water, and gas in the emirate. They ensure that every home, business, and institution has access to reliable, safe, and sustainable resources.
Location: Sharjah, UAE
Completion Date: June 2024
Contract Type: PCS7 system hardware and software upgrade

Project Scope:

The Hamriyah SWRO plant began operations in 2014 and is one of the main desalination plants serving the emirate of Sharjah. This restoration project is a milestone in supporting the UAE’s water security 2036 goals and part of Sharjah’s multipronged strategy to increase the emirate’s sustainable water supply.

In February 2022, SEWA had disclosed plans to increase the production of desalinated water in the northern emirate by building a new desalination plant in Al Hamriyah region.

The construction of the new project began in May 2022. To reduce feed pressure and power consumption, optimizing performance, it is envisaged that state-of-the-art-extra fouling Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane technology will used.

Process:

The reverse osmosis process is a water purification method that removes impurities by forcing water through a semipermeable membrane. It effectively eliminates contaminants like salts, bacteria, and chemicals, producing clean, drinkable water ensuring high-quality water for various applications.

Our Solution:

Provide a new set of IT hardware (servers & workstations) with the upgrade of the existing Siemens PCS7 & Process Historian from version 6 to version 8.
