Project Scope:
Saudi Methacrylates produces methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Construction works on the MMA monomer and PMMA plants started in June 2014 by Taiwanese company CTCI Corporation and commercial operations are targeted to start at the new facilities in the middle of 2017. Annual production capacity for MMA monomer will be the world’s largest at 250,000 tons, while the PMMA plant will produce 40,000 tons. The plants are estimated to cost SAR 4.5 billion.
Project Scope:
The refrigeration package provides cooling to MMA and PMMA. MMA is primarily used as a building block for acrylic-based products such as recyclable transparent plastics, coatings and adhesives and PMMA is primarily used by the electronic industry to manufacture LCD screens and monitors.
Our Solution:
Redundant Siemens S7400H PLC System and Siemens WinCC HMI Station and integration with Yokogawa DCS System over Modbus TCP/IP. Bently-Nevada Condition Monitoring System is used for compressor vibration and temperature monitoring and analysis.
