Carbon Capture & Deep Ground Injection Control System

Dibba, Fujairah, UAE

General Information

Client: ADNOC & 44.01

ADNOC partners with 44.01 to turn CO2 into Rock.

44.01 is the molecular mass of CO₂. It is named after CO₂ because they saw CO₂ as an opportunity - a chance to build a new industry to help with the energy transition, to repurpose old skills and expertise, and to help nature use its own tools to fight back against climate change.
Location: Dibba, Fujairah, UAE
Completion Date: March 2024
Contract Type: Design, Supply, Manufacture, Programming, Testing, FAT, Commissioning, SAT and Training of the PLC and SCADA system.

Project Scope:

ADNOC, a reliable and responsible provider of lower-carbon intensity energy, partner with the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation (FNRC) and 44.01 to pilot technology that permanently mineralizes carbon dioxide (CO2) within rock formations found in the Emirate of Fujairah. The project, uses 44.01’s Earthshot prize-winning Carbon Capture and Mineralization (CCM) technology to eliminate CO2 from the atmosphere. This is the first CCM project by an energy company in the Middle East.

Process:

A Groundbreaking enviro-revolutionary project capturing CO₂ from the atmosphere, mixing it with seawater, and injecting it into peridotite rock formations underground.
