Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER) was established in 2003 with an objective to enable the real estate sector to efficiently utilize energy resources through District Cooling Services (DCS).
Empower has successfully completed 10 years of its operations in December 2013. Over the last decade, Empower has seen a consistent level of growth. It recently acquired Palm Utilities and Palm District Cooling, considered as one of the largest ever acquisition in the district cooling industry, transforming Empower into the world’s largest district cooling services provider in terms of capacity.

Project Scope:
This Plant was constructed in 2005 by Palm Utilities but never commissioned and was taken over in 2014 by Empower. The scope of this project was to re-commission the plant equipment and install a brand-new control and SCADA system with additional instruments to achieve an optimal plant operation.
Process:
District Cooling provides chilled water from a centralized cooling station, through a network of pipes, for air-conditioning purposes.
